Ford Truck Installation & Demo

This Ford video shows an earlier installation method. Use the rivnut tutorial at the bottom of this page for the current mounting hardware. The current Ford kit includes rivnut mounting hardware and a support bar. See the Ford kit page for current hardware and fitment details.

Ford kit: use Loctite on all mounting fasteners. Loctite threadlocker is recommended on all final mounting bolts in the Ford kit, including the ARmA15-to-support-bar bolts and the support-bar mounting bolts. This kit uses lock washers and does not use nylon-insert lock nuts. Loctite is not included.

The rivnut installation tool is different: lubricate its working threads as shown in the rivnut video.

Ford Hardware: Parts 1–5

Ford ARmA15 hardware diagram: 1 support bar, 2 rivnuts, 3 rivnut installation tool, 4 mounting bolts, 5 lock washers
  1. Flat support bar: Cut to the required length to add support and strength.
  2. Rivnuts: Threaded inserts used for the mounting connections.
  3. Rivnut installation tool: Used to set the rivnuts. Lubricate its working threads as shown in the rivnut video.
  4. Mounting bolts: Hardware used for the Ford mounting connections. Use Loctite threadlocker on all final mounting fasteners.
  5. Lock washers: Used with the mounting bolts. Loctite is still recommended.

No nylon-insert lock nuts in this Ford kit. Loctite is recommended on all mounting fasteners and is not included. Keep threadlocker off the rivnut installation tool’s working threads—those need lubrication.

Rivnut Installation — Using the Supplied Tool

All ARmA15 truck kits use rivnuts. Watch this shared tutorial to see how rivnuts work and how to install them with the supplied ARmA15 tool. The same rivnut technique applies to Ford, Chevy/GMC, and both Dodge truck kits.

Don’t forget the lube—unless your installation plan includes cussing and wondering why the damn thing won’t work.

Lubricate the installation-tool threads as shown in the video before tightening. The lubrication demonstration starts around 2:20.
